Shade, located in the Heights area of Houston, is quietly situated along W 19th St., but its menu is boisterous! Let’s focus on their weekend brunch menu. It offers anything from a Pork Torta, scrambled egs, quiche and and array of fresh salads. The dining space is cleanly designed and they even have a runway thin patio space for those three non-humid days that Houston has every year. On Saturday’s and Sunday’s the mimosas start flowing at 9 a.m. with brunch being served until 3 p.m.
on my plate: Homemade Challah French Toast and Pulled Pork Tostadas (with a fried egg on top – highly recommended!)
FOUR PRONG FORK REVIEW:
Service: Excellent! | Reservations: Recommended | Parking: Street Parking | Price: $$
– GOOD TO KNOW –
If you can peel yourself from your bed early on the weekend, you should be fine to be seated pretty quickly. But on Sunday’s around 11 a.m., the wait can be long (an hour or so). Reservations are definitely recommended anytime passed Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
