The JW Marriott Panama Golf and Beach Resort is located south of Panama City (in the country of Panama, not Florida). There are a few other hotels within a few miles, but this property truly sits alone surrounded by private beaches and the private gated community of Buenaventura made up of second vacation homes and mini mansions. It is not in bad company, for sure! The hotel also boasts a coffee shop, a convenience store, a boutique for some local shopping, multiple restaurants and a church. There are plenty of hotels to choose from in the metropolis of Panama City, but this resort was the perfect getaway from the citylife.

hotel accoutrements: Corotu spa, fitness center, six restaurants on property, private gardens, golf course and beach front property.

BIG SPOON REVIEW:

Service: Impeccable! The staff is truly helpful, extremely attentive and impressively accomodating | Spoonability: ZZZZZ – The beds are extremely comfortable.  |  Bum report: Once again, the toilet paper is as impressive as any other hotel toilet paper. Unfortunately.  |  Is the vanity fair? – Your typical items (shampoo, conditioner, sewing kit, cotton swabs and body lotion). Nothing to call home about.

– GOOD TO KNOW –

The ride to the JW Marriott Panama Golf and Beach Resort is about an hour and a half via automobile. We took a private van to the resort for efficiency and safety purposes. I highly recommend it so that your transportation is waiting for you when you arrive to the airport. The abundance of official and “unofficial” taxis screaming at you for attention is less than pleasing. Once at the hotel, use the adventures planning group officing in the hotel. They are extremely helpful and can help plan all of your adventure trips.
