The Penthouse is an ultra cool restaurant located in Santa Monica, California. The eatery that doubles as a lounge sits atop the modern Huntley Hotel (hence the name). The 18th floor view that The Penthouse offers is absolutely breathtaking! Combine that with its incredible menu and eye-popping bar scene and you have one hell of an experience.
on my plate: The Wedge Salad with
Grilled Shrimp, Our Pancetta, Avocado, Bleu Cheese, Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Egg and a Red Wine Vinaigrette. The Grilled Alaskan Halibut with Smoked Fennel Puree, Roasted Cipolini Onion, and Pickled Kumquat. A side of Macaroni & Cheese and the Warm Chocolate Blackout cake with Burnt Caramel Ice Cream, Coffee Crumb, and Malt.
FOUR PRONG FORK REVIEW:
Service: Great. Very attentive staff | Reservations: Strongly Recommended | Parking: Valet or street parking | Price: $$$
– GOOD TO KNOW –
The Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel is definitely a see and be seen type of place so if you aren’t into that crowd, choose another restaurant. Their dress code is strictly enforced so call ahead and confirm their dress code before you head to dinner. The lunch dress code is a lot more lax. The view is absolutely amazing during lunch because you can see far into the Pacific Ocean and along the coastline (on a clear day). The sunset is remarkable, but at night, you see more black darkness than anything else. I recommend you valet. Street parking is tough.
