The W New York Downtown hotel is perfectly located in the heart of New York City. There are a few W locations in NYC, but none are closer to the downtown action than this property. You are literally feet away from the 9/11 Memorial, a short walk away from the ferry, Wall Street, the Statue of Liberty and (if you get just the right room) you’ll have stunning views of Freedom Tower. The W Downtown has a mix of great interior amenities as well as a one-of-a-kind outdoor patio with a breathtaking view of Downtown and Freedom Tower.

hotel accoutrements: Wheels (sm) Valet parking, Dry Cleaning/Laundry Valet, fitness center, business center and the BLT Bar and Grill.

Service: Good. I’ve stayed here a few times and the staff is always hospitable | Spoonability: ZZZZZ – The beds are comfortable and the pillows are fluffy and airy per their usual  | Bum report: Rough… as expected.  |  Is the vanity fair?: The usual stuff – shampoo, conditioner, their Bliss bar of soap, etc.

– GOOD TO KNOW –

This property is conveniently located near a lot of NYC’s best and most popular tourist attractions, but keep note that it is not as close to Times Square, 5th Avenue, Empire State Building or Central Park as you might want. For the average New Yorker, it may only be a 30 minute brisk walk, but for most people, it is far enough to take a cab or brave the Subway system. Make note of the sites you want to see so you do not find yourself returning to your hotel a few times a day to change, shower, rest or simply re-charge. The back and forth can easily add up and cause an unexpected expense on your trip. Aside from that, this hotel is perfect and has all you need to complete your New York City experience.
